German ASEAN Business Council

The German Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam established the German ASEAN Chamber Network to provide a dialogue platform, strengthen regional cooperation and to support regional trade and investment.

It will provide instruments to

  • enable ASEAN policy-makers to identify bottlenecks of strategic importance for the implementation of the AEC Blueprint, including economic policies influencing ASEAN's trade and investment climate
  • exchange information between businesses and chambers to improve the institutional representation and ultimately institutional support from chambers to business
  • formulate joint positions on issues concerning ASEAN trade and investment to enable companies to adjust their business rationale to current policy thinking of ASEAN key stakeholders and expected changes in ASEAN's trade and investment climate
