Mabuhay Germany 2015

Connecting to assist and support the Filipino and German Communities here in the Philippines

With its theme “Connect Now”, Mabuhay Germany 2015 successfully gathered the German-Philippine community to a festive weekend showcasing German culture, food and business.

Drums were rolling, the marching band was playing, glasses of champagne were tickling and “Prost!” was chanted - the Mabuhay Germany 2015 has officially opened! Last 21-22 February, thousands of people flocked in the stretch of Bonifacio High Street in Fort Bonifacio to witness the most anticipated event in the German-Philippine community, the Mabuhay Germany.

Now on its 7th year, a lineup of activities were specially prepared to cater to individuals of all ages. All over Bonifacio High Street, German companies showcased their high quality products and services, from fashion and tourism to cars and industrial technology.

Mabuhay Germany at The Fort

After taking a break in 2013, Mabuhay Germany was “back on stage” in February 2014. Part of this year’s events was the celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Germany and the Philippines.

The Mabuhay Germany Steering Committee consisting of GPCCI, German Embassy Manila, Goethe – Institute Philippinen, German European School of Manila, GIZ and our partner Outbound Asia began to work on the new concept as early as June 2013. The objective was to make Mabuhay Germany even more attractive for the sponsors and exhibitors while reducing it to only two days in February.

Choosing February instead of October paid out well, as the weather played along nicely and allowed two consecutive days of outdoor activities without any weather related disturbances. The Corporate Bingo and “Best Booth Award” proved to be a success, while already well-established program components like the panel discussion, song & dance competition, scavenger hunt, photo contest, table soccer tournament,Groovy Doovy Germany Night, Kid’s Tent, and German Beer Garden continued to be well received.

Some hard facts and figures
o 48 companies participated
o 14 companies were sponsors
o 26 joined as exhibitors
o 8 were food concessionaires
o around 10.000 visitors for two days

Overall, Mabuhay Germany was again a success and I would like to use this opportunity to thank all the members of the steering committee, the GPCCI Board of Directors and all participating sponsors and exhibitors for their support.

See you at Mabuhay Germany 2015!
