2nd Speed Networking Night

“Don’t talk about the weather!” – The 2nd Speed Networking Night of the German, British, French and Spanish Chamber was all about making new contacts and exploring business opportunities.

The chambers applied the principle of speed dating at their joint networking night on September 30. Three minutes was the time limit to get to know each other, to exchange ideas and business cards. Then, a bell would ring and it was time to meet the next person.

More than 200 Germans, French, Britons, Spaniards, Filipinos and other nationalities mingled at the Makati Diamond Residences, enjoying a sumptuous buffet, drinks from Ralph’s Wines & Spirits, and draft beer from Brotzeit. Exclusive raffle prizes were provided by Etihad Airways, The Farm At San Benito, Hotel Jen, Porsche Design, Sfera, Birkenstock and Twinings.

The German booth was sponsored and prepared by Beyond Creatives. Other event sponsors and partners were AGS Four Winds (logistics partner), Alveo, The Beaufort, Blue Cross, Kittelson & Carpo Consulting, Parkway and media partners Business Mirror and TraveLife.

We would like to thank all sponsors, partners and participants for this very successful 2nd Speed Networking Night – we are already looking forward to the next one!

The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (GPCCI) held its annual Summer Networking Night last May 29 at the Seaside Wall Garden of the Sofitel Philippine Plaza. Once again, the Summer Networking Night achieved its goal of bringing German and Philippine businesses together, with around a hundred attendees to testify the evening’s success.

This is a big success, but that does not mean that we do not need new Members,” said Goerlich.

Goerlich also acknowledged the presence of German Ambassador to the Philippines Thomas Ossowski and thanked the event partners, namely: Leica Philippines, The Farm, Comfort Sole/Birkenstock, Hapag-Lloyd PH, Masagana Gas, Veltrup Philippines, Coffral Philippines, as well as the beverage sponsors Booze Online, Ralph’s Wines and Spirits, and Eurofoods.

After the short program, three gift certificates to The Farm and a Leica Camera were given to four lucky guests during the raffle draw.

Joint Speed Networking Night at New World Hotel

National chambers of four European countries gathered in what was touted as the first-ever Speed Networking Night aimed at bringing together all the respective members of the Chambers and provide a platform for new business opportunities.

Members of the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI), the French Chamber of Commerce (FCC), British Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (BCCP) and La Camara (the Spanish Chamber of Commerce) participated in the activity held at the New World Hotel in Makati last 10 September 2014.

The highly successful event was conceptualized to encourage members of the four Chambers of Commerce to familiarize each other’s businesses and consider doing business together. Networking events have proven to be instrumental in increasing the business contacts of members. Members of other Chambers who offer goods or services needed by the GPCCI members might likewise increase trade and business opportunities in the Philippines.

As stated by GPCCI President Dr. Bodo Goerlich, the event was a run up to the state visit of Philippine President Benigno Aquino III to European capitals of Spain, France and Germany.

He added that the Speed Networking Event likewise highlighted the successful experience in the Philippines of European businesses such as several of Germany’s Mittelstand or small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Dr. Goerlich said the warm reception of trade partners from Europe is the best proof that the Philippines is now back on the “radar screen” of the European businesses.

Summer Networking Night at Doehle House

GPCCI and its objective to bring about German and Philippine businesses together hosted a Networking Night at the Doehle Haus Manila.

To lighten up the mood of a business-centric event, GPCCI organized the occasion in a cocktail setting yet didn‘t overlook to satisfy its guests gastronomically by offering sumptuous dinner buffet with a splendid view of the Makati skyline and an open bar with overflowing drinks. Drinks were generously sponsored by Mr. Cliff Davies, President of Doehle Shipmanagement.

After the AGM, this was the first time the new Board of Directors was presented to the general membership. Nine out of the eleven officers were on hand to meet and greet everyone after being introduced by GPCCI Business Development Manager Brenda Baylon. Dr. Bodo Goerlich, GPCCI President gave short welcome remarks. The latest batch of GPCCI members were also introduced to the group by Klaus Schröder, Chairman of the Membership Committee, with the assistance of GPCCI’s Membership Officer Hazel Llanera. All staff and interns of the Chamber were on hand to lend their full support.

Although it rained around 10:30PM, that did not dampen the spirits of around eighty attendees who made full use of the networking night. Truth is that the last group to leave left the premises at 2:00A.M., a testament to the success of the event.

Joint Networking Night at Sky Lounge

Finger food was served buffet style. There was free-flowing wine and beer courtesy of sponsors. GPCCI had the honor of having SPi Global SVP Ms. Celeste B. Ilagan as the winner of the grand raffle draw, a plane ticket for an international flight which was handed to her immediately following the announcement of her winning.
