Manila, Philippines – September 11, 2019 – BASF was recently recognized with two trophies at the 17th Philippine Quill Awards Night, an annual recognition program held by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). The two awards recognized BASF’s ongoing efforts on nurturing children’s interest in science through BASF Kids’ Lab and the science appreciation education programs.

BASF Kids’ Lab program, which has the theme of “Science is fun and cool!”, was awarded in the Special and Experiential Events category which demonstrated the company’s commitment towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #4, “Quality Education”. BASF’s Kids’ Lab was established in 1997 at the headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany. It is an interactive, fun and free chemistry education program designed to allow kids to discover the world of chemistry through hands-on experiments. Through the program, BASF proves its success in creating a foothold in its participants’ hearts with its fun elements, especially with its animated mascot, Dr. Bubbles.

In addition, BASF’s science appreciation programs won under the Corporate Social Responsibility category with its focus on promoting science to students through educational offerings, including the Virtual Chemical Reactions Interactive Touch Table at The Mind Museum. To allow more students access to the top-rated science museum, BASF offered sponsorship of free museum tickets, and brought a science show to public schools.

The Philippine Quill award is considered to be the most prestigious of its kind in the field of business communication, recognizing the best examples of communication to achieve business goals, and to make a difference in society.
