GPCCI Energy Roundtable Luncheon

9 October 2019 – GPCCI held a roundtable luncheon on the energy sector with Dr. Georg Maue from German Embassy Manila. The event provided a forum to participants on getting latest updates from Dr. Maue on where does the global energy industry is heading in the following years and how can the Philippines adapt to such challenges. Dr. Maue said that Germany’s major targets are to decarbonize electricity and transforming the transportation sector to adjust to more environmentally friendly solutions. Participants shared their experiences telling that the Philippines has a very good potential in the energy sector however the absence of a clear government policy and foreign investment restrictions in public utilities make the situation difficult for investors.
