The ADB is the most important multilateral finance institution for projects in the Asian-Pacific region and focuses in the development of the infrastructure in Asia. Primarily projects in the energy sector, transport, finance and administration as well in the areas of water and other urban infrastructure. It has financed projects in its 48 Asian and Pacific member countries with an amount of 27 billion US Dollar last year alone.
The recently concluded business mission last 21- 24 March was connected to the two-day “Business Opportunities Fair 2017” of Asian Development Bank. The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (GPCCI) in collaboration with the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV) aimed to present yet undiscovered business potentials in the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific Region through ADB projects.
The visit was complemented with business briefings, site visits (connected or funded by ADB or Germany-related projects in the Philippines) and a business-to-business marketplace to exchange and get in touch with important stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region as well as with prime contractors or consortium partners to pave way to business partnerships.
The German companies sought information about the potentials in the sectors of energy, transport, water, urban infrastructure and education.
