Extended Producer Responsibility Forum

 20 May 2025

Isabella Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La.

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is a policy approach that places the responsibility of managing post-consumer waste on producers, encouraging companies to design sustainable products and implement waste management solutions. As environmental concerns grow globally, EPR has become a key strategy in reducing plastic waste and promoting circular economies.

The EPR Act in the Philippines (Republic Act No. 11898) took effect in 2022. The implementation of EPR legislation marks an important step in addressing the country's plastic pollution crisis. With the EPR act in place, this forum will aim to cover an in-depth overview of EPR, its implementation, and its impact on the Philippines business community, outline future impact for companies not covered by EPR legislation now, and share best practices how and why the European business community can be at the forefront of sustainability in the Philippines.

The Extended Producer Responsibility Forum, in collaboration with the Belgian, British, Dutch, European, French, German Spanish, Nordic, and Swiss Chambers of Commerce in the Philippines, will be held on 20 May 2025 at the Isabella Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La.

The event aims to be a platform for key stakeholders including government agencies, the private sector, academe, and civil society to share insightful discussions and dialogue on the topic. This session will be relevant for industries including manufacturing, consumer goods, retail, food & beverage, (renewable) energy, construction, automotive, aviation, medical and health, and other sectors.
