The webinar brought together German enterprises and development stakeholders to explore avenues for strategic collaboration in the region. Stéphane Bessadi, Principal Procurement Specialist at ADB, delivered a comprehensive presentation on ADB’s procurement policies, processes, and guidelines. His insights aimed to equip suppliers with the knowledge to identify opportunities, submit competitive bids, and comply with procurement and anticorruption standards.
A key highlight of the presentation was the introduction of rated or merit point criteria, which support the evaluation of bids and proposals by incorporating non-price factors such as quality, technical merit, and overall substance. These procurement reforms are designed to strengthen development impact by emphasizing quality, innovation, and sustainability, shifting the focus from lowest-cost selection to long-term value for money.
Laura Sunderman of GTAI provided an overview of how businesses can utilize the GTAI database to research project tenders, access donor profiles, and monitor development cooperation opportunities.
Representing GPCCI, Therese Chu, ADB Partnership and Business Development Consultant, announced the upcoming GPCCI Business Mission to the ADB Business Opportunities Fair 2025, scheduled for September 16–17 at ADB Headquarters in Manila. The mission aims to connect German companies with ADB project officers and procurement specialists to foster new partnerships.
