The tour officially began with opening remarks from Ms. Regine Opulencia, Key Account Manager at VITRO Sta. Rosa. She introduced participants to the facility’s vision and commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and support for mission-critical digital operations across industries. She emphasized the importance of industry collaboration and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to engage with the GPCCI community.
This was followed by a warm welcome from Mr. Martin Baulig, Chairperson of the GPCCI Information Technology Committee, who welcomed participants on behalf of GPCCI and highlighted the strategic importance of data centers in today’s rapidly evolving digital economy. He expressed appreciation to key partners and special guests from the German Embassy Manila, as well as representatives from PLDT, Smart, ePLDT, and VITRO.
The session was hosted by Mr. Ramon Ponce Jr., Relationship Manager at PLDT Enterprise, who guided the overall flow of the visit. Throughout the program, a lineup of speakers from VITRO, PLDT, Smart, and ePLDT delivered engaging presentations that provided attendees with a comprehensive overview of the evolving digital landscape in the Philippines.
The speakers included Mr. MG Librojo, Sales Head of VITRO Inc., who highlighted the VITRO Sta. Rosa Data Center’s advanced infrastructure. He emphasized its resilience, security, and scalability for mission-critical operations.
Mr. Rom Austria, from Enterprise Product Management and Marketing at PLDT Enterprise, introduced PLDT iGate and discussed its role in supporting robust and reliable enterprise connectivity.
Mr. Ronell Jiao, Head of IoT Enterprise Strategic Business Development at Smart, spoke about the expanding role of IoT in enabling smart business solutions across industries.
Lastly, Mr. Nonoy Ativo, Technology Solutions Consultant for Managed Services at ePLDT, provided valuable insights into emerging technologies, with a focus on cybersecurity and the growing impact of AI in enterprise IT.
Participants were guided through an immersive tour of the facility, where they had the opportunity to explore the data center’s data halls, power and cooling infrastructure, and disaster recovery systems. Throughout the walkthrough, the VITRO team provided detailed explanations and answered participants’ questions in real time.
The tour served as an important platform for members to explore opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and digital resilience, as the Philippines continues to grow as a regional technology hub.
