In response to recurring outbreaks since 2017, the publication presents science-based recommendations aimed at supporting government efforts and guiding key stakeholders—including farm owners, industry associations, academic institutions, and private companies—in the control and prevention of AI.
It highlights the importance of a coordinated, multi-sectoral approach and raises awareness of the potential risk of AI transmission to other animal species such as dairy cattle and wild cats. While no human-to-human transmission has been documented, the whitepaper emphasizes the urgency of proactive strategies to prevent broader zoonotic spread.
