GPCCI Continues Regional Green Investment Dialogue Series in Davao

On 30 July 2026, the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI), in partnership with the German Embassy Manila, successfully held the second leg of the Regional Green Investment Dialogue (RGID) 2026 in Davao City, bringing together stakeholders from government, business, academia, and industry to explore sustainable development opportunities and strengthen regional cooperation on the green transition.

Opening the event, Mr. Christopher Zimmer, Executive Director of GPCCI, highlighted the importance of dialogue and partnership in unlocking investments that support sustainable and inclusive economic growth. In his welcome message, H.E. Andreas Pfaffernoschke, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Philippines, reaffirmed Germany's commitment to supporting the Philippines' climate and energy ambitions through continued cooperation, innovation, and knowledge exchange. 

 

The program featured a Regional Investment Snapshot by Asec. Romeo Montenegro, Deputy Executive Director of the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), who shared insights on Mindanao's economic landscape, competitive advantages, and investment opportunities. This was followed by a Regional Energy Snapshot from Atty. Marissa P. Cerezo, Director of the Renewable Energy Management Bureau of the Department of Energy, who discussed developments in the country's renewable energy sector and the role of clean energy in strengthening long-term energy security and regional competitiveness. 

 

Through the Industry Spotlight and Moderated Executive Dialogue, participants exchanged perspectives on renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, and emerging technologies while exploring opportunities for partnership and investment across Mindanao. 

 

In her closing remarks, Ms. Cherrylin B. Casuga, Vice President for Agribusiness of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII), emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in advancing sustainable growth and enhancing Mindanao's investment competitiveness. 

 

The event concluded with a networking reception that enabled participants to continue discussions and forge new connections. Through the Regional Green Investment Dialogue series, GPCCI continues to foster engagement between German and Philippine stakeholders and support regional initiatives that contribute to a more sustainable and resilient economy.
