On 4 December 2025, the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI), in cooperation with the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), celebrated the feast of St. Nikolaus by spending a meaningful day with the rescued animals at the PAWS Animal Rehabilitation Center in Quezon City.
The program was opened by GPCCI's Executive Director Mr. Christopher Zimmer by thanking our Sponsoring Members were present at the event. "As a dog owner myself, this activity hits close to home," Chris remarks as he acknowledges the meaningful work PAWS has been doing for the past years.
This was then followed by a message of gratitude from Atty. Anna Cabrera, PAWS Executive Director, who also gave a brief overview of the organization and all their past achievements. Moving forward, PAWS also lobbies policies that champions animal safety even in times of calamity.
PAWS welcomed the group with a guided tour, visiting their dog shelters, cat quarantine and play areas, the special-needs cat space, and the on-site veterinary clinic. The tour concluded at the indoor multipurpose hall and the pet memorial wall, honoring beloved companions who crossed the rainbow bridge
The tour was followed by a shelter feeding program for rescued animals. Two stations were prepared to create special meals for the dogs and cats, and once ready, GPCCI staff and guests joined the PAWS team in distributing the food.
At the end, PAWS also received donations from GPCCI, alongside generous contributions from Boehringer Ingelheim and GOLDMÜNZEN, Inc.
The program concluded with remarks from Mr. Yves Aguilos, GPCCI Head of Government Affairs and Data Privacy Officer, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to PAWS and all partners for making the event meaningful.
We extend our sincere thanks to our partners Boehringer Ingelheim, TÜV Rheinland, FLS Group and GOLDMÜNZEN, Inc. for making this initiative possible. For those who wish to support PAWS and its mission, please feel free to reach out to us or visit the PAWS website for more information.
May the spirit of St. Nikolaus inspire us to show care, warmth, and affection to all living beings, including our loyal furry companions.
