The Power of In-Company Trainers: Strengthening the Link Between Learning and Workplace Competence

On 16 July 2026, GPCCI launched the Dual Education in Practice, a learning series designed to highlight practical approaches, real-world experiences, and best practices in dual education and training. The series was kicked off by exploring the important role of the people who make it work – the In-Company Trainers.

While frameworks, policies, and curricula provide the foundation for learning, it's the In-Company Trainer who turns these into competence, workplace experience into growth, and potential into professional success.

We were honored to have Assistant Regional Director Antoinette Ma. G. Cardasto from TESDA join us to unpack updates on the Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) Framework Act (RA 12063). Under EBET, companies aren't just future employers — they become active training partners, skills developers, and direct contributors to the national workforce pipeline, supported by incentives like tax deductions and scholarship mechanisms.

The panel brought together powerful perspectives from industry, academe, and training practice: Mr. Marlon Mina, Executive Director, PCCI-HRDF & ASEAN Senior Master Trainer; Ms. Regina Amores, Polytechnic University & ASEAN Senior Master Trainer; Mr. Matthias Kühle, Project Manager, KSB SupremeServ Academy.

One line stuck with everyone in the room:

“Investing in trainer development is ultimately an investment in the future workforce.” Mr. Matthias Kühle, KSB SupremeServ Academy.

True to the spirit of dual education, the event didn't stop discussion. In interactive working groups guided by ASEAN senior master trainers, participants were given a taste of designing their own structured training session plans that they can bring straight back to their workplaces.
