5 German market leaders exploring business opportunities in construction and infrastructure in the Philippines
On February 19, 2019, 5 German companies presented their business solutions in the fields of infrastructure and construction to the Philippine market. The conference was organized by the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Philippine Constructors Association. Industry experts along with government representatives shared project opportunities in the Philippines.
Undersecretary Rowel Barba from the Department of Trade and Industry warmly welcomed the business mission and encouraged further development of German-Philippines business relations.
GPCCI President Tristan Arwen Loveres emphasized the great potential for cooperation as German companies look for long-time collaboration and stand for sharing know-how and up-to-date technology.
The government’s program “Build, Build, Build” aims for the improvement of the infrastructural situation of the country. With an overall 13.3% growth of the construction industry of the Philippines the country currently is facing a “Golden Age” of infrastructure, as several speakers pointed out.
Accommodating a full house, the attendees seized their chance to broaden their network and joined in business matchings.
The conference is part of a 4-day business mission of 5 German companies, namely, AuCom MCS GmbH & Co. KG, Hauff-Technik GmbH & Co. KG, Herrenknecht AG, MULAG Fahrzeugwerk Heinz Wössner GmbH & Co. KG and thyssenkrupp AG.
In the following days the delegate companies will further explore partnership potentials with Philippine counterparts. The project is part of the Foreign Market Entry Program of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) supporting German SMEs in their global outreach.
