At the end of May, GPCCI oversaw the 2-day practical examination for 10 students enrolled in the Porsche Aftersales Vocational Education (PAVE) program. This was the 8th mid-term examination conducted under the PAVE program to date in Manila. The goal of this examination is to uniformly assess the trainees’ skills level as future automotive mechatronics with specialization in high voltage. The required skills are taught throughout a 2-year theoretical and practical training program based on Don Bosco’s automotive technician training program, which is enhanced with additional Porsche-specific skills requirements.
Since its inception in the Philippines in 2008, PAVE training program localizes elements of German Dual Education and Training here in the Philippines. The examination also follows the structure of a practical mid-term examination as conducted in a German Dual Training setting. The focus of the exam is the practical application of skills and knowledge. Each student undergoes three practical exam tasks, which are only revealed to them on exam day. The students’ performance is assessed and graded by independent industry experts.
GPCCI congratulates all 10 of the batch 8 students as they successfully passed their mid-term examination. They are now preparing for their final exam in August 2023, which will conclude their training program. Batch 9 students of the PAVE program meanwhile are getting ready for their mid-term examination in June.
