GPCCI recently conducted an Intercultural Leadership Training for 12 managers of the Döhle Shipmanagement Phils. Corp., comprising both German and Filipino participants. As these managers frequently interact with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds, the training aimed to enhance intercultural awareness and improve team communication.
Held online on September 5 and 19, the 2-day training encouraged participants to reflect on how cultural differences influence leadership and communication styles. The program explored the key contrasts between German and Filipino work cultures, using interactive discussions and frameworks such as the Business Culture Matrix and Cultural Lenses.
Participants also learned about different communication styles and strategies to navigate cross-cultural interactions more effectively, equipping them with the tools needed to foster a high-performance team.
This tailored training provided Döhle Shipmanagement’s managers with valuable strategies to foster a high-performance team, despite cultural differences, ensuring smoother collaboration between their German and Filipino colleagues.
GPCCI’s Intercultural training aims to support teams to have stronger and more cohesive collaboration across borders. For inquiries on training, contact kristina.silan(at)gpcci.org
