“Feierabend!” A German saying to announce the end of a workday, and the start of a relaxing evening. The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) held an after-work party by hosting Feierabend: Sundowner by the Skyline on the 19th of September 2024 at the Seltsam Rooftop Bar in Makati.
The initial afternoon rain did not hinder our Members and friends from attending our first Feierabend: Sundowner by the Skyline as it remained a fun and interactive night.
The event served as a "spin-off" of GPCCI's Abgrillen zum Sommerende which ended the Filipino summer; this time ending the German summer. The evening kickstarted with opening remarks from Mr. Tobias Rast, the newest board member of the Chamber. Later in the evening, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Andreas Pfaffernoschke graced the event to meet with the business community.
In German, Feierabend is from the words "die Feier" meaning "celebration" and "der Abend" meaning "evening". With that, the guests enjoyed the evening over good conversations, beers, and food such as barbeque, fries, chicken kebabs, and salmon skewers.
A German event can't have enough beers to last the evening. Nonetheless, our beer partner, Lucullus PH, once again generously sponsored our guests’ beers, bringing brands such as Warsteiner, Maisel's Weisse —one of which even featured an alcohol-free beer!
Guests participated in the game "Business Card Bingo" as the networking gimmick, where guests had to collect the business cards of people who fit a certain description to get an entry for a raffle.
Finally, we say "Prost!" to our guests by spending their Thursday Feierabend with us. 'Til the next Sundowner!
